Smoot Awards

The Smoot Awards are coming up fast and the Chamber needs your nominations! The Smoot awards honor prominent business and community leaders of Provo for their service throughout the past year. The event includes dinner, entertainment and award presentations. The awards will be held in May and anyone in the community can submit a name to be honored.

Do you know an Outstanding Citizen? Help us honor them at our annual Smoot Awards. The following are the awards being given:

Leads Group

Every second and fourth Wednesday morning at 8:00am all members of the Chamber are invited to Leads Group to network and share leads with one another. The leads groups are designed to present a comfortable atmosphere where business leaders can come together and form business relationships. The group meets at Mimi's Cafe on the second Wednesday and Magleby's Grill on the fourth Wednesday. The cost is simply the cost of your meal. Our next meeting is March 26th at Magelby's Grill. Dream Dinner's Sneak Peak

On Wednesday, Dream Dinners in Orem had a Sneak Peak night for Chamber members. Upon entering the store you are greeted by Danielle and Jean, owners of Dream Dinners and their amazing staff ready to help you make enough dinners for 3 dinners a week for a month. The inside of Dream Dinners is decorated like a homey kitchen, making you feel at home while making dinner. We were each handed a red apron explained the whole process of creating a perfect meal. The Dream Dinners menu offers up to 17 delicious dinner selections each month, with enough variety to please everyone in the family. Sides and accompaniments may also be available. Everyone in attendance received a free Pecan encrusted chicken was the entree. Thank you Jean, Danielle and the Dream Dinner staff for such a fun night!

Eggs and Issues Last Session, Meet the Candidates

March 8th marked the last Eggs and Issues breakfast for 2008's Legislative Session. Senator Valentine, Senator Bramble, Representative Lockhart and Representative Dougall gave us a brief wrap up of the Legislative session which earned them all a big round of applause. Read more about their hard work here or here. Our last breakfast was also an opportunity for the Utah Congressional Candidates to introduce themselves to those in attendance. Candidates included Republicans Joe Ferguson, Jason Chaffetz, David Leavitt and current U.S. Congressman Chris Cannon. Click on each candidate's picture to be taken to their website.
